In the Shadows

As I sit in the darkness,
the shadows creep up against my body.
Fear envelops my body.
The unknown lurks all around me,
pulling at my soul.
I run like the blind seeking vision,
in all that can not give.
My heart avoids my only cure.
Finally, when all hope is lost,
my heart is renewed in christ's holy name.
Peace envelops my body.
Grace overcomes my fear.
The darkness is warded off in the light.
