From Darkness to Light

By Ephraim Yeung (Eee)
...
I stumble in the darkness,
with the eyes that can not see.
My sight is limited o all that I can touch.
Each and every sound brings forth fear in my heart.
As I fall to my knees in despair,
the pains of darkness,
strike out at my very soul.
The cold strikes at my side,
sinking deep even to the very bone.
When the light appears,
all darkness is driven away from me.
First the light brings forth pain,
with my eyes so accustom to the dark.
But soon as the pain subsides,
much beauty enters my senses.
The fear is replaced by joy and peace.
Color enters my life,
replacing the different shades of black.
Light enters my life,
which brings forth a life I have never seen before.
As the shadows fade,
my life is renewed,
almost reborn.

My Master Creator

By Ephraim Yeung (Eee)
...
I saw you even in the beginning,
before your mother knew of you in her womb.
I formed you,
detailed in every way.
I protected you,
as you entered the dangerous world,
fleeing from the safety of the womb.
I protected you in my arms,
as the horrors of the world scared you.
I rejoice beside you,
as you encounter the joys I have placed in your path.
I held you up,
as the enemy struck at you with temptation.
I protected you,
even when you chose the path of foolishness.
I broke my body for you,
taking all your sins upon my sinless body,
so that you may respond to my saving hand.
Now I ask,
how will you respond?

The Spiritual Battlefield

By Ephraim Yeung (Eee)
...
I am weary from battle.
My wounds of war are deep.
I have seen many of my brethren have fallen by my side.
My shield of faith is dented,
bent and scratched,
but it still stands strong.
My breastplate of righteousness hangs by a thread.
The flaming arrows of the enemy are all around me,
wounding those without a shield of faith.
My Sword of Truth is dented and chipped,
but the word of God still stands.
Our enemy feats my strength,
given to me by the infinite strength of God.
As I battle in the army of the Lord my God,
I battle for more than life itself,
I battle for the souls of my neighbor.
Only through the brokenness of their spirit,
can their soul be saved.
